Another one of my musings of the evening. I always hear of people saying that they are waiting for the Lord to tell them what to do with their lives, and I wonder what they do while they are waiting. While it is none of my business to ask them directly, it is a curious thought. What do we do while we are waiting on the Lord? We go about our daily lives, but do we dedicate those mundane activities to the Lord or are we just going through the motions while we wait for our miraculous burning bush to appear so we can be the next Moses to lead our people out of spiritual (or literal in some cases) slavery? I would like to say that I dedicate everything I do, including the mundane, to the Lord, but I don’t and I have been convicted of such and this is why I am writing. So we can look at quite a lot of leaders in the history to the Israelites and the church and see that they too waited on the Lord for a period.                 Lengthy title aside, I think this question is one that many American Christians have been considering given recent political events that show that the church and the government are not of the same mind on some issues. Now I’m sure many of you have already put together what political events, but my goal here is not to discuss what has happened in our country, but what we should do now as Christians. Now then, we can examine the scriptures to find other cases in where men of God followed their hearts and defied their kings and governments in accordance with the will of God, not the will of man. There were officials in the kingdom who convinced Darius to issue a decree that no one will be worshipped in the kingdom for thirty days except for King Darius.                 When one describes the problem of evil, one typically brings up suffering, but I think these are two separate things, suffering being the result of evil. While I have already explored the problem of suffering, what I would like to do is explore the nature of evil, why it is here, and what the scriptures have to say about it and how God deals with evil.                 So first off, we must define terms. What is evil? The answer I will use here would be anything that goes against God’s law, which is the definition of sin, and anyone who reads the book of Genesis finds that sin entered the world when Adam and Eve partook of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. So evil goes against God’s law, so why doesn’t God in His omnipotence eliminate it? If He is omniscient, didn’t He see this coming and could have stopped it altogether or prevented it? Is...

                Ever wonder the odds of winning the lottery? How about the odds of winning the lottery twice? Multiple lotteries in multiple states on the same night? We congratulations you and everyone in the universe have appeared to win a large cosmic lottery! What I am talking about is that fine tuning argument for the existence. I have seen different variations on this argument, either universally in the mathematical constants (gravity, strong/weak nuclear force, etc.) to the placement of our planet Earth. Good Morning and welcome to Prairie Grove Baptist church. For those of you who don’t know, I’m here because your pastor ran off to Miami with your pianist for the week. I’m sure Dad has talked about what I do for my online ministry of Christian apologetics, but I would like to give my explanation for what it is, why I do it, and how I came to be called to be a Christian apologist. Apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which means to give a defense. If you will look at 1 Peter 3:15 with me, “ But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” We are commanded to always have an answer ready for the faith in Christ that we have.                 This is a question that I’ve been thinking about answering in a couple of different ways, and hopefully better than the allusion to the genetic fallacy that was provided by Richard Dawkins when provided this question. So let’s try and unpack the question of what if I am wrong?                 This question I can think of multiple ways, what if I am wrong in my apologetics, meaning by reasoning and logic are flawed? This is a very interesting point, as I try to be as logical as possible while writing. But say that I am completely misled and my reasoning is completely off the point and I am a crazy man shouting nonsense on the internet. Does this disprove the existence of God? I would hope not, there are plenty of people with a wrong opinion of God, from theology to being completely wrong about his existence, but opinion does not change fact.  ...

                With the presidential elections starting soon, I’m sure people will be starting up conversations on various topics, and one that I bet will be on the ticket is equality for everyone. We have recently seen the legalization of gay marriage and the federal government overturning the state mandated prohibitions on it. A lot of people are celebrating this new milestone in equality, but this got me thinking down a political vein. What is equality as defined by our government? Is it when everyone can marry who they want? Equal pay and job opportunities? What is it? From what I would say about equality, it would be when I don’t have to think about it. I understand that people seek to put themselves above others at those people’s expense, which I think is the very definition of inequality.
